I am a big fan of this diner. My family eats out all of the time and this is the only restaurant that we go to where everyone is full and happy. It offers a variety of foods from your traditional classic dishes to eclectic off the beaten path dishes. I love the fact that you can either have the eggs, bacon, hashbrown venue or totally step out of your comfort zone and go upscale with the creamy, rich Charleston Shrimp and Grits. We are so excited the diner has a new location in Julington Creek. Love it!

We drive almost 7 miles one way to go to breakfast often..love everything on the menu...take friends/coworkers to lunch and everyone wants to go back there. We take the whole family to breakfast and from the youngest to the oldest, we all love going there. He now has the best complete staff ever, great cooks, great wait staff and the owners are wonderful. Mark is very special.
A local favorite. This diner surpasses all restaurants on the First Coast. They cook an array of different items from Crab Cake Benni, 10-in pancake, Fresh local seafood dishes, and more. Everything is made from scratch and you will not leave disappointed, large portions at a great value. You've just got to try it. Look for the blackboard specials that are not on the menu ranging from American classics to Eclectic fusion. Don't forget to try the famous Key Lime Pie. It is voted best in Jax every year!

In town on business, I got on-line to find a local breakfast joint and stumbled on the Metro Diner located fairly close to the hotel. One review said the food was great but not-so on the service. I am here to rebuke that claim. Not only was the food phenomenal (we split the crab cake benedict - AMAZING! and the Yo Halla - frangelico marinated bananas and cream cheese stuffed inside of french toast style challa bread covered in strawberry/blueberry compote - Also AMAZING!), but the service was fantastic. Amanda was attentive as well as cute as a button and the manager and even an owner, Mark, checked on us repeatedly. They were fairly busy but didn't push for the turn'em and burn'em philosophy of many fast-paced diners. In short, give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

I continually search out the best mom and pop breakfast places all over the country. Metro diner has a nice vibe and is a fan favorite of the locals. There is ample servings but the staff could use a personality lift. Little interaction between patrons and staff. you may have to ask twice to receive water and do not expect a check back if your food isn't exactly right. With a little service training, this could be a nice breakfast experience.

The Metro Diner is a great place to bring your family or hold a business luncheon. They provide a great open-kitchetn atmosphere that allows customers to see thier food being prepared for them. They have a variety of dishes on thier menu's ranging from the enormous breakfast burrito to the fettuchine alfredo with chicken.
