I'm a busy, successful business owner with no time on my hands so I was looking to hire a company to treat my lawn. I met Southern Green's owner, Brad Stowell, at a small business conference here in town. As part of the conference, he explained how he built his company from the ground up by building a good reputation of service. He talked about the value of hard work and dedication in building customer loyalty. Those are all values I share, so after the conference, I went to talk to him about signing up. Mr. Stowell explained how the service worked and it almost sounded too good to be true. However, when I peered into his big, brown eyes I could see he had a good soul, so I took the plunge and started service.
My lawn looks amazing! It's lush and green with very few weeds. My only regret is not hopping aboard the Southern Green bandwagon earlier. I feel like the staff truly values and respects their customers. This is the best lawn company ever!

For years, I used Bug Out and they never sprayed my weeds. My yard was inundated with weeds of every shape, size, and color. One day I got a call from Donnie at Southern Green. He explained the service and how their weed control works. I was cynical and had a nagging suspicion that all lawn companies were the same, but I went ahead and gave them a shot. To my surprise, every thing he said turned out to be true. If anything, he undersold the service. Within three treatments, my weeds all died. ALL of them, without exception. I was floored. With the great results like this, I'm getting all of my friends to hop aboard the Southern Green bandwagon.

Southern Green is the best lawn care company I've ever used. I've used Scott's, Trad's, and TruGreen in the past and they never did much good. When I switched to Southern Green, my yard really turned around. It's like having a lush carpet of grass for a lawn. Plus, Southern Green really is green and they care about the environment.

It's not the bottled water that you buy in stores, it's not off a glacier in the north pole, it is the water that southern green puts on your lawn. They say they are treating for insects and fertilizing your lawn, but all they are doing is applying a mist of water to your lawn. Note: Customer Service Rep Paul, I am in the Navy protecting your rights and freedom, you were no help. When you want our business you are super nice, when it comes to ended our service you are super rude. Thanks....

One star is generous. 7 months of service and no significant improvement. When the last ""technician"" was here in April, I asked him ""why do I still have weeds in my front yard?"".
His reply... ""I don't know, I've only been doing this for 2 weeks.""
As Donald Trump would say, ""Southern Green, you are fired!""

My son received a call from these people and since our lawn was dying at his home he thought he would give them a try. Well as of this writing strike one they lied. He wanted to know if you can pay online and they said yes. Low and behold, they don't even have a web site never the less, to pay online. I read all the reviews and I sent them to him. I believe he made a grave mistake, if he read the reviews. They told us in 4 months we will have lush grass and all the weeds all be gone. So I will blog later as we see what happens. PREVARICATION

I signed up for Southern Green a few months ago, and I'm blown away by the quality of their work and their impeccable customer service. Like many people, I didn't take that good care of my lawn. It wasn't too bad, but it could use some improvement.
Since I signed up with Southern Green, my weeds have died and my lawn has become lush, thick, and green. I had a bad fire ant problem, but they took care of it and now my yard is ant-free. All I have to do is use the service and follow the watering and mowing instructions and my lawn looks great!
Southern Green also has a well-qualified, professional staff. Tim does my lawn. I'm a retired, elderly woman and I'm at home when he treats the lawn most of the time. He always goes over any concerns I have and does a very good job.
On the few times I've had to call into the office, I get a great response. Their customer service manager, Paul, is by far the most helpful, polite, patient, and intelligent person I have had the pleasure of dealing with in business. You can tell he really cares about the customers.
Southern Green is awesome!

This was copied from my BBB complaint.
Complaint – Being billed for a lawn care treatment that was not received.
The company had a disregard for service with me. I feel they either use an inferior product or they don’t pay attention to how they treat your lawn. I only had them service my lawn once, for weed control, and they had to come back out to re-treat the lawn about four week later. My lawn still looked as if they didn’t treat it.
They scheduled the next treatment a few weeks later, they didn’t even show. I did receive a bill for the treatment though. When I called to question the treatment, the representative told me that it was possible that the technician treated the wrong yard and he would like to schedule another treatment. With a bad taste in my mouth already I went ahead and declined, and asked to be removed from the list for treatment. The representative informed me that would be fine but I still owed for the treatment that I did not get. I know they didn’t treat my lawn because I didn’t get a bill on my front doorknob like I did with the previous two visits, and the technician did not stick the sign in my yard warning people to stay off. So even though they did not treat my lawn they say I still owe as if my lawn did get a treatment. This is terribly wrong and the public need to know about this.
Thank you for your time.
Credit my account the $45.00 they say I owe them. My lawn was not treated.

This site made me give this company a star.... In all honest, they don't even deserve that. Representative never sprayed my lawn. The weeds didn't die, they multiplied... just like gremlins. The rep didn't even spray the lawn. I waited for two (2) months for results. I called, complained, sent photos and still NOTHING. I'm having to till and resod my yard thanks to these folks. Also filed a complaint w/ the BBB. The had the nerve to tell me I had a balance due on my account. I'm only obligated to pay for services when they are actually rendered.

Last April, my lawn was in horrific shape- there were bare areas, it was weedier than a Bob Marley concert, and I had freeze damage from the prior winter. I had never used a lawn service before, but I knew I needed help. I saw a Southern Green sign in a neighbor's yard and I decided to give them a call.
Nicole answered the phone and I explained my situation to her. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions about the service. She quoted me a very good price. I was still apprehensive about taking this step, but Nicole informed me there was no long-term obligation so I went ahead and gave it a chance.
Josh applies the treatments to my lawn. One of the things I appreciate about this company is that they send the same well-qualified, professional lawn technician each time. I'm normally at work when he does the applications, but Josh leaves an informative note advising me of what he did. He also gave me information on practices I can do to help the lawn, like watering frequently and mowing the grass tall. The one time I didn't get the results I was looking for, I gave them a call and they came and did a free service call which corrected the issue.
I can't believe the improvement in my lawn. The lawn has undergone a substantive decline in weeds, it has grown thicker, and the grass is filling in the bare areas. Thanks to the dedicated professionals at Southern Green Chemical Lawn Care, I have a lawn which is the envy of my neighbors and I can take pride in.

Southern Green really turned my lawn around. I've had weed problems in the past but my Southern Green tech explained the way their treatments work and how a properly mowed and watered lawn will thrive under their program. He was right cause it sure has turned around. Maybe some of these other people on here should take their techs advice as well. I highly recommend these guys.

Talk about scamming. I actually changed to Southern Brown...I mean Green about 8 moths ago at the recommendation of a friend. I had been having some issue with my old service and they were about to sell out to mega lawn service of who I wanted nothing to do with. Southern Green comes on strong like they are on top of things but then you start seeing their real colors about 2 months into the service. They start sending these little letters that they are going to give your lawn the super duper treatment that is going to make rainbows spill out of your yard and we are only going to charge you an extra $XX.XX (it varies). I call them up and tell them not to give me the super duper treatment but give me my regular service as needed....well to make a long story short they finally slipped in a Chinch Bug Booster....$29.00 can you believe it? These people must think that the average consumer is stupid when it comes to this sort of thing and maybe they are right to continue these practices. To me they shot themselves in the foot this time because I told them not to come back on my property. There are so many companys to choose from and why these people act this way is beyond me...save your money. one time they showed up at my house...did a treatment...left the bill on the door..like normal.... the bill was for my neighbor's house and yard and I got treated for something that I didn't need or want....watch out for them.

Southern Green is great. Brad Stowell, the owner, also my father is great. Walks through everything with the costumers. It is family owned and operated. Kills all weeds quickly. I don't now where you guys are gettIng all this "" private public operated"" stuf(referring to you bruckmed12345) He walks through every thing with thE costumers. There is a buisneses in Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville. He has been grating our family yard since I was born. Southern Green is great. So is Brad Stowell.

Neal, the customer service mgr, has worked with me very closely to help me make my yard good. He is informative and courtious. He is the only reason I remain with Southern Green and if he ever left the company, as a customer so would I.
I still have issue with the owner who thinks he doesn't owe his paying customers some respect and personal attention when requested. But I am still using the service because his field mgr Neal is very good at what he does. I give Neal 5 stars, his boss the owner, NONE!

I'm not a complainer but after receiving a warning from my home owners association that my lawn was in violation of the rules because of all the weeds and that I was at risk of $100 fine unless it was taken care of, I asked myself what have I been paying $40 a month for the last 2 years for?
If you're a client you know they claim to treat for weeds and to expect results in 3 weeks. WHY 3 WEEKS??
I went out and bought a $10 1/2 gallon sprayer and some weed killer concentrate for another $10. I sprayed my weeds and 2 DAYS later they were all dead and I've still got 2/3 left of the weed killer. I think it took me a half an hour at most to get better results than they've achieved in 2 years.
You want to know why I believe they claim 3 weeks? So you forget what they looked like 3 weeks ago and you convince yourself that maybe they're not as bad...but they're actually probably worse!

We had been a customer of Southern Green for a couple years. We did not have an issue with them until we tried to cancel the service. I called twice to cancel however they continued to come. Although we had moved, we still owned the home and paid for the regular treatments. The clincher for us that has resulted in writing this review was when they did the annual aeration at a cost of $110.00 with NO APPROVAL. We have called several times to get this removed from our account. NOT ONLY WAS THE OFFICE MANAGER THE RUDEST PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY 30+ YEARS OF BEING IN THE BUSINESS WORLD, SHE HAS ALSO LIED TO US SEVERAL TIMES. She told me that they had called for approval in mid July for approval and gave me the phone number that was called. The number she gave me was our home phone number which was disconnected on June 5th. We have requested numerous times to speak to the owner and the owner has never called us back. We have tried for 4 months to resolve this issue and each time we have called, we have been told we have to pay the bill. We had contacted the company in June, July and August to stop all service. They continued to come do service. Because we still owned the property and in good faith, paid the bills, we are now told by the office manager that because we paid those invoices, we have to pay for the aeration. This is for a service that we never authorized, nor will we pay. It has absolutely nothing to do with the money, it is completely based on principle. Our next step in this issue is to contact the Better Business Bureau. No company should have the authority to perform a service on anyone's property without prior authorization. If I could do a negative rating, I would have.
